Rowing Queensland Case Study
Rowing Queensland is the peak body for the administration of rowing activities in Queensland. It conducts, encourages, promotes, advances, controls and administers rowing activities throughout the State.
Rowing Queensland had an overly complex IT solution that didn’t meet their operational needs. It was made up of layers of hardware and software that had been implemented over a number of years by several providers.

Cloudbridge assisted Rowing Queensland in migrating away from an ineffective IT infrastructure by implementing a straightforward solution based on Microsoft Office 365. The process to implement this simplified IT solution included:
- Rationalising the communications infrastructure using the NBN for a broadband connection.
- Rationalising the server infrastructure.
- Upgrading PC’s and laptops to Windows 10 including backing up and restoring required data.
- Streamlining and reconfiguring internal devices including printers and storage.
- Rationalising Microsoft licensing including implementing Office 365 Not for Profit licensing.

Overall the implemented solution left Rowing Queensland with a solution that was easy to use and assisted them in delivering services to their stakeholders. The solution successfully removed layers of complexity that made it hard for staff at Rowing Queensland to even understand their IT infrastructure let alone use it effectively.
TCP Educators
TCP Educators Case Study
TCP Educators is made up of three Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) centres operating in the southern suburbs of Brisbane providing child care services to approximately 250 children and employing more than 70 staff. The team at TCP Educators have worked to develop the reputation of the centres as providing the highest level of early childhood education and care.
Initial discussions with the management team at the three child care centres identified that the ECEC sector is information and communication intensive with a range of policy and procedure documents. At the time TCP Educators didn’t have a common email system or any form of document management. Centre Managers couldn’t collaborate in the development of common policies and procedures and staff didn’t know where to find the latest version of a document. This made operating the three centres more difficult than it needed to be and affected the centres ability to manage industry accreditation.
To address this situation Cloudbridge worked with TCP Educators to:
- Streamline the communications infrastructure within and between the three centres including implementing WIFI and using Foxtel cable services to provide Internet access.
- Rationalised and simplified the desktop and printing hardware so that there was a base infrastructure in place for all users.
- Implemented Office 365 to provide a common email solution throughout the business and provide access to the Office suite of applications for members of the management team.
- Implemented document management based on a SharePoint framework developed specifically for the ECEC sector. This facilitated collaboration in developing policies and procedures, sharing documents across the three centres and staff being able to easily find the latest version of a document.
Today the management team can effectively communicate and collaborate, making it easier for them to focus on their important core business, providing excellent education and care for young children.
